Case study
Spurgeon’s Sermons
A ministry that runs on autopilot.
Each day, one of Charles Spurgeon’s sermons becomes a podcast episode, a study guide, an email and social posts, and the best of them become booklets. A team of AI agents does the work. I set the direction.

The idea
One sermon, many forms
A Spurgeon sermon is a single, long piece of writing. The ministry takes one sermon and packages it into new forms, so people can meet it wherever they are: in their earbuds, their inbox, their small group or their social feed.

How it’s built
From a ChatGPT experiment to a ministry on autopilot
Spurgeon’s Sermons was originally written in ChatGPT, before coding agents were a thing. It has been through several iterations since.
The voices come from ElevenLabs.
Today the whole thing runs on an Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano Super on my desk. It’s a ridiculous use case for a little AI computer, but there it is: a daily scheduled job, monitored by an OpenClaw agent.
- The archive holds 3,528 cleaned Spurgeon sermons, with roughly seven years of them already queued on the Jetson.
- Every morning at 5am, one sermon becomes a narrated episode in a cloned voice, a study guide, a blog post and a scheduled podcast episode, with no one touching it.
- The same sermons also feed quote images, scheduled to Facebook months ahead.

What listeners say

Spurgeon breaks down and explains the gospel of God’s grace so clearly and beautifully. His sermons inspire my faith in Christ and help me to walk confidently in the grace of God in my daily life.

Podcast listener
I have learned a lot from listening and reading them. I appreciate you putting them in a podcast, the man reading them is a blessing. He doesn’t just recite them he preaches them.
Podcast listener
The episode I’ve listened to twice this weekend, and which has touched my heart, is “A Sharp Knife for the Vine Branches” – just what I needed to hear.
Podcast listener
I really enjoy your podcast and find Preacher Spurgeon’s messages to be incredibly insightful.

Over 1.6 million downloads
The podcast launched in August 2023 with one sermon a day. Here’s how the downloads have added up since then.

Why it matters
What this means for ministries
Most ministries have sermons, talks and articles that are used once and then filed away. Here, one long sermon becomes a podcast, a study guide, an email, booklets and social posts, and the ministry runs on autopilot.
